eControl does not require its own server hardware as it can be virtualised without restriction. This virtualisation has a significant cost-saving potential, because several systems share a hardware platform. Virtualisation platforms or servers are mostly designed as high-availability systems, so that the availability of eControl benefits from virtualisation.
eControl requires a 64-Bit Windows server system.
